I grew up in the desert shadows of the mountain ranges of the American Southwest. One of my favorite mountain ranges is the Organ Mountains, located just east of Las Cruces, New Mexico. These dramatic peaks rise from the Chihuahuan Desert and form one of the most recognizable mountain skylines in the Southwest.
